Newhaven has some excellent boat fishing - with numerous inshore wrecks, reefs and excellent rough ground within 5 miles of the harbour mouth. There are 7 charter boats operating from the ports a well stocked tackle shop, and a large marina with space for

hundreds of boats. The local boat fishing club  Newhaven Deep Sea Anglers is based there and you can find details of all these elswhere on this page.

Shore fishing is served well by two harbour arms and the nearby Tide Mills which is a good winter Cod and Whiting hotspot. The East Pier offers good fishing all year round particularly at night.

More details of the best times tides and baits can be obtained from the Newhaven Angler situated in the Marina.
