  • Ali Harvey wins first Heat of the All Sussex Shore Championships

Well known Sussex match organiser and Sussex tackle shop proprietor, Ali Harvey won the first Angling Trust All Sussex Shore Championship, held at Pevensey on Sunday 30th March.

On a fine sunny morning, in flat calm conditions 40 anglers paid competed fiercely to qualify for the final – due to be held in October. The fishing was brisk with all anglers catching fish – Rockling and Pin Whiting dominated the day but flounders pout and some small codling were also landed.

The winning points total of 310 was some way better than the rest but the race for qualification was very close with points scores in the upper 200’s needed to ensure entry to the final.

The event was fished by a number of well-known local anglers including Angling Trust ambassador and angling writer Jim Whippy and England Youth International Martin Payne and Sussex Angling Media publisher Tim Macpherson. Our thanks to the match organisers, Anglers Den tackle shop owners Glyn and Kevin Morgan, who will also be overseeing the final in October.
