  • Bexhill Sea Angling Club holds its first Young anglers session

The Bexhill Sea Angling Club, encouraged by the success of the Sea Angling Festival last year has now held its first Youth Club night down at their Galley hill club house. Run by Brian Pask with the help of England international Jack Hayes and local tackle shop owner Steve Hanks, the event attracted 11 youngsters from Bexhill all wanting to learn how to fish or to improve on what they already know.

Organiser Brian Pask says of the club “We at the club are very keen to introduce as many youngsters as possible to angling. The sport is immensely popular and it’s a great way to spend an evening and although we didn’t land any fish they all had fun and learned a lot. We’ve been given lots of gear so the members who attend don’t have to have their own tackle and we’re here to pass on our expertise to the next generation”

The Club starts at 6pm on Tuesday evenings at the Angling Club house at underneath Galley Hill. Ages 10+ are welcome. To book a place call Brian Pask on 07870 425778, Steve Hanks at Hook Line and Sinker on 01424 733211 or contact us through the website

BSAC Club Secretary Clive Ford would like to thank Mrs June Bowyer for passing on her late husband George’s fishing tackle as well as Yogi Poland & Steve Hanks for their donations. Without these donations and the time of Brian, Jack & the other helpers it would not be possible to hold these evenings.
