  • Junior angler Chris Ford wins the latest Bexhill Sea Angling Club match

Bexhill Sea Angling Club held its third competition of the year to date on Sunday16th February. For a change the weather was really lovely with the sun shining on the dozen or so anglers who took part.

The winner was Chris Ford, a junior member, with over 2lb of fish including the heaviest fish. His bag was made up of Sole, Flounder, Whiting, Pout and a Ling. Runner up was John Forster and Chris’ Dad Clive Ford came in 3rd.

Always good to see the juniors beating the seniors. On that note this Sunday (23rd February) sees the first of the bi weekly Junior Club sessions run at the Club by Brian Pask. The session starts at 2pm. The Club is currently working towards Angling Trust Club Mark status and the junior section has over 20 members

In the second competition of 2014, held two weeks ago, Club Chair Arthur Freeman won with a fine bass of 5lb 8oz (pictured) – although otherwise the fishing was pretty difficult.

The awful weather over the past couple of months has meant that none of the club boats have been able to get off the beach. IN fact on at least three occasions some of the boats were in danger of being swept away by a combination of tidal surge and high winds coinciding at high water.
